Assembly Packaging
Customers can choose how ProfiAnts packages their assemblies. This ensures that you maintain full control over the protection and compliance of your products, meeting all required safety and reliability standards during storage and transport.
What Is Assembly Packaging?
Assembly packaging refers to the process of wrapping and securing electronic assemblies using protective materials such as antistatic bags, foam, or cartons. It represents the final stage of manufacturing — and one of the most critical steps for ensuring product integrity during shipping.
Depending on the type of assembly, packaging may include:
  • Wrapping individual boards with cushioning or bubble wrap
  • Securing boards between shock-absorbing layers
  • Placing assemblies in trays, ESD-safe containers, or cardboard boxes
Why Is Packaging Important?
During transport, assemblies are exposed to vibrations and mechanical shocks. Proper packaging prevents mechanical damage such as bending, cracking, scratching, or breakage of components and PCBs.
When choosing packaging, it is important to define its purpose — the most common include:
  • ESD protection (antistatic and conductive shielding)
  • Vibration and shock protection
  • Moisture control
  • Custom labeling and identification
Cushioning and Shock Absorption
This is the most common packaging method we use for assemblies. Boards are wrapped and fixed using air bubble film, foam inserts, or layered padding materials. ESD-safe materials can also be applied, depending on the sensitivity of the components.
While multilayer packaging provides superior protection, it also increases the volumetric weight of shipments, resulting in slightly higher transport costs.
Moisture Control
Moisture can seriously damage printed circuit boards. To prevent this, we use vacuum-sealed bags and desiccant materials (such as silica gel beads) to absorb humidity during storage and shipment.
Package Labeling
Like any professional product packaging, each shipment follows standard labeling conventions. This includes directional arrows, “Fragile” and “ESD-sensitive” warnings, and moisture-level indicators.
Important: All labeling and packaging markings are defined and agreed upon with the customer before shipment!
Types of Packaging Materials
  • Antistatic Bags: Shield PCBs from electrostatic discharge and static buildup.
  • Bubble Wrap: Protects delicate boards with air-filled cushioning against impact and vibration.
  • Foam Packaging: Used as internal padding; some foams also offer ESD protection.
  • Corrugated Boxes: Provide strong outer protection and resistance to high impact forces.
  • Desiccant Bags: Absorb moisture and maintain humidity control during transport.
